[South Florida DX Association] Hurricane Wilma

Well, I just got my power back last night at around 6 PM. DSL service soon
followed. I can hardly believe that I don't have to make two gasoline runs
today to feed the generator. I was going through 10 gallons per day,
running the generator 24 hours / day. This translated to around $30 /day,
with enough juice to run just about everything in the house except the
oven, the drier, and the central a/c. That's $900 /month. My average FP &
L bill is only $350 or so, and I get to run the a/c. Its hard to believe
that FP & L's bill can be considered a relative bargain!

I posted some photos to a yahoo site that I use to share photos with
others. The photos were taken during and after the storm around my
neighborhood in central Plantation, as well as the immediate aftermath at
North Perry Airport, in West Hollywood. As you will see, the airport was
turned into a virtual junkyard. My understanding is that all the area's
airports look like this.

The link is http://photos.yahoo.com/camp_chicalac, and click on the album
entitled Wilma. The other albums will have no meaning to anyone in radioland.

Enjoy. Hope everyone is slowly getting back to normal, and that we now all
have power.

Neil,
