HURRICANE DENNIS ASSISTANCE

Our fellow hams and Floridians in the panhandle will need our
assistance during the aftermath of hurricane Dennis.

What's needed?
Mobile comm units and mobile towers
Relief operators for shelters and served agencies
Traffic handlers on NTS nets and packet BBS

If you can help, don't jump in your car or truck or RV and head north.
That is what we don't need.

What you need to do is:
A) decide if, when, how long you can deploy
B) be certain you have food, clothing and power for your radios for at
least 72 hours and fuel for your vehicle and generators (you can't go
expecting to use someone else's radio and batteries that need
recharging)
C) contact your local ARES® EC and tell him when and for how long you
can deploy and what equipment you can provide.
D) await confirmation of when, where, for how long you are assigned and
the person to whom you are to report when you arrive.

DO NOT GO ON YOUR OWN.
WE WANT TO MATCH THE ASSISTANCE WITH THE NEED.
ALL MUTUAL AID ASSISTANCE IS TRACKED BY STATE EOC FOR INSURANCE AND
REIMBURSEMENT PURPOSES.
YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED PAST ROADBLOCKS WITHOUT AN ASSIGNMENT NUMBER.

If you have no county EC or cannot reach them, contact the DEC for your
area or our SEC, Jeff Beals, WA4AW. Information on who these folks are
and how to contact them is at www.sflarrl.org. Click on ARES.

Thank You for any assistance that you can provide.

73 and stay safe,
Sherri W4STB
