Hi Bill,

Interesting...when the UK Ministry of Defence decided (in 1996, as I recall)
to drop Morse radiotelegraphy, certain Special Forces units continued to
train their radio operators in Morse Code. 

For example, the British Army uses various 20W HF manpack radio sets. In the
desert, when the operator is out of range for SSB at that power level, CW
will often get through.
