Hi Bill,

>From what I have been able to glean, the FTDX-9000 is still an analogue
hybrid design, based on the FT-1000MP platform - crystal filters and
post-AGC DSP. If so, it is decidedly no threat to the 7800. Again, it
appears that Vertex-Standard just will not fund a 100% DSP-based HF program
at Yaesu. That 500W PA may well be one-half of a Quadra. This will dictate a
specialised (and rather costly) PSU as a "mandatory option" - analogous to
the FP-29 PSU for the MkV, but larger.

I hope that I am wrong, and that Yaesu has finally entered the DSP Age.
