14 members were on hand today for the South Florida DX Association "Antenna Busters" Club Project in Lake Worth, Florida.
6 hours from start to finish was needed to take down a 105 foot Rohn 45G tower and antennas. The tower was formerly owned by Silent
Key, Joe W8WW and donated to the club by his widow.
It could not have been accomplished with out the help of Climbers, Vant K4LM, and Brian NY4PD who did the climbing and heavy work.
The ground crew consisted of W2CQ, W1RG, W3AZD, K2AU, N8PR, WA4WTG, K9AW, W3RC, W4BP, W4PJ, N4GM, & W3ANE
The tower has been sold and the antennas, 6 element KLM Ten Meter, and 4 element 6 meter will be sold. The rotor will go up on the
club Tower and the Ham IV rotator will be sold. Let me know if anyone has an interest in the antennas or rotator. There is an offset
bracket for mounting and antenna lower on a tower for rotating an antenna midway up to be sold also. A Gin Pole will also be
available for sale.
It was a lot of fun and a "job well done" to those attending.
