We had a good turnout this morning as Steve W4DTA has already said. The group worked hard. Thanks to the strong chisel work of W4PJ
and W4BP who drilled, chiseled, hammered, sawed or otherwise bullied 5 holes into solid concrete or such. Thanks to the group.
W4BP, KB2TZ, W4BP, W4PJ, W3AZD, N8PR, KC4VU, W4DTA.
The group then proceeded to pull five 7/8 inch hardlines and one 1/2 inch through the holes over walls over ceilings through tiny
spaces and around corners into the radio room at the Hospital. From the base of the tower through five rooms and hallways to the
club radio room.
These lines will replace the aging hardline for the repeater, provide KB2TZ with cable for his UHF work and also a line for the
SEDAN system we support.
The repeater will be at full power (85 watts) and expand the range greatly.
The Vertex repeater, (now the extra) will travel to the Jupiter/West Palm area for use as the Clubs new link. The repeater will be
on the air soon providing our members to the north with a repeater for their use in DXing and assisting in serving the DXers in that
area..
The plan is to link these two together utilizing Echolink very soon. We are expanding our foot print in Florida northward. There are
many DXers that we want to reach and include into our activities.
I sent in a number of challenges to the Officers and Board Of Directors of the club late last year and we are on our way to making
them happen. Perhaps one day we can change the name to the "Florida DX Association"
