John, MikUM & Others,
You might like to check out the N3RA (telnet://dx.n3ra.com or =
telnet://65.42.104.225) and W9ZRX (telnet://webcluster.w9zrx.net) nodes. =
Here are a few facts about N3RA that might be of interest... (These =
are passed along from W9ZRX, who is the person "in the know" about who's =
connected to what and how. =20
Good DXing!
Fred, K9VV (Boca Raton)
1) N3RA is better connected than K4JA
2) N3RA's Primary Link is to AB5K
3) N3RA has Passive Links to:
a) K4JA
b) K5UTD
c) K8SMC
d) KR9U
e) N7OD
f) NA2NA
g) W1GQ
h) VE7CC
4) In addition, N3RA has a Direct Link to K1XX (where a LOT of East =
coast DX is spotted FIRST)
5) N3RA on a UPS
6) N3RA's UPS is backed up by an Auto-Start Diesel Generator
7) N3RA is on DSL - K4JA is on a 24/7 Dial-Up
=20
And W9ZRX (webcluster.w9zrx.net) is directly connected to N3RA, has =
Passive Links to K1TTT, AB5K, WU3V, and others, is also on a UPS, and is =
on a Cable Modem.

MikUM,
I'm normally connected to K8SMC, but when it is down I use K4JA.
I've noticed that K8SMC keeps sending me SSB spots even though it =
shows my=20
filters set for CW only. K4JA filters work fine.
K8SMC uses a RF connection to his ISP and it periodically gets blasted =
by=20
lightning and is down for days. But when it is running it is pretty =
reliable.
After writhing this I'm going to change my primary node to K4JA and =
use=20
K8SMC when JA is down.
