A few days ago I sent this note to the Officers, BOD and others in the club. The group will be working with Pete N8PR & Joe W4SAA
this coming week for installation. Tom Mannix, WA4YLD has, Volunteered to be the SYSOP. I omitted the emails as it became
redundant. - Bill W2CQ

"To Officers, Board members and Interested SFDXA Club members:

I was approached this week by the Coordinators of the
Southeastern Emergency Digital Association Networks. Message was referred to me by Pete N8PR whom they originally contacted.

They are in dire need of a linking site from West Palm to the National Hurricane Center in Miami.

I responded and will allow them access to our tower for the balance of the Hurricane Season. They have all they need and are ready
to install the system for immediate implementation. Both Pete and I think this an excellent situation for the club in many ways.

I think this is a very good project and the club will receive good marks for its participation and will help our longevity at the
Hospital site. They are already excited at having us there and this can only add to our being a partner in their Emergency Efforts.

They would like a SYSOP and have asked me but I wanted to see that the BOD was made aware of the activities as this has come up very
quickly. If any of you would like to serve as SYSOP please let me know.

The packet system is not being used at all in our club and while I am not abandoning the idea, I feel for now the space on the tower
is better served in this endeavor. This will be good for the club in the long run providing needed communication for the State of
Florida and the National Hurricane Center.

If it does not work out after the season we can reexamine things and make a decision at that time. For now and the rest of the
Hurricane season I believe this to be very good for the club.

Pete has this week, determined that the antenna for the repeater is the problem with our 2 meter system and we are going to have to
replace it. I asked the SEDAN people for assistance in this and believe they will be able to help us at the same time. They have
already sent me a note saying they would be glad to assist.

Here is the Web Site for the SEDAN Group. We can all familiarize ourselves with their work.

I wanted the Board and interested members to be aware of this move as I said previously, it came up quickly. Following this note I
cut and pasted copies of the email correspondence.
