"The 2002 Miami Hamboree is now over and I'd say it was quite a success.

In particular the South Florida DX Association made it's best and most successful showing in many years. A great Volunteer effort!

40 Sign in Attendees at the DX Forum to hear a terrific Presentation by Dan Henderson N1ND from the ARRL regarding "LogBook Of The
World". The possible new way to QSL in the Future. Great work Dan!
Here is a note I received from Dan today:
"Bill:
I wanted to take a moment (back in the wind-chill of zero this morning Hi Hi) to thank you and the club for your most gracious
hospitality this past
weekend at Hamboree. While the weather was great, the best part of the weekend, as it always seems to be, was the opportunity to
spend quality time with quality people. I hope sometime down the road that the club issues a return visit invitation - you won't
have to ask me twice...
Thanks and 73
Dan Henderson, N1ND
ARRL Contest Branch Manager"

Many Door Prizes were given out and that was a big hit as well.

The 2001 "DX Hog Of The Year" deservedly went to Steve W4DTA/YV5DTA etc etc. "Oink Oink!" The Presentation was made by Mike W4UM and
Don W3AZD.

Don W3AZD received the Mini Hog representative of his winning the award last year.
The booth was well attended by Many Members but Special Thanks to Don W3AZD and Hope WB3ANE who held down the fort most of the time.

We added some things to spruce up the booth this year and gave out lots of Handouts.

SFDXA DXCC Totals. Applications for New members were on hand and those were given out along with the information on the Club. On the
back was a Chart with the Circle Bearings based on Miami. A sign up sheet for the DX Dinner and Maps to the restaurant.

The Handouts were done by Mark WA2YMX. Randy N4QV did the DXCC totals for members. Great job guys! Thanks.

Sherry W4SLR took care of documenting all the sign-ins and watched the tickets.

W4UM and W4DTA did a wonderful job setting up the DX Dinner. I counted 34 for dinner and cocktails.

About two thirds were DXers from out of town. Several Members of the Florida Contest Group were there and Dan K1TO took home a Door
Prize. Dan from the HamStation was there with Flip and was last seen heading out the door with a beer in each pocket. We gave out 3
Door Prizes and left full and happy to be a part of such a great group of Hams.

Don and Hope manned (woman'ed?) the Booth on Sunday and were aided by Joe W4SAA, Grant N4GM and Mark WA2YMX. Lots of help was there
on Saturday.

Don set things up on Friday and packed things away on Sunday as well as providing transportation for Dan and others.

Watch the Club WebSite for the pictures. Both Steve and I took a bunch.

Gil, W4PJI did a great job in his handling of the Ballots for Officers for 2002. Very Professional. We all owe him thanks.
