No batteries --- AA, button, whatever. this unit had some sort of
electronic memory and a static chip and capacitor that kept it charged.
I am looking for someone who would know about this

Could be a AA Battery also
Most likely located either on the back of the radio or on the bottom
Look for an access panel probably with one or two screws to open up
