You're scanning in conventional mode, not trunk tracking, if you have to
lock out the control channel.  You won't be able to filter which talk groups
you hear until you get that working, either.  Once you do, though, the
scanning experience will be much more enjoyable.

Unfortunately, I don't have any familiarity with that particular scanner
model.  But if you check for a user group for it (google search -there's
probably a yahoogroup specific to it) or post a message in the "Trunking"
forum on RadioReference.com.  Someone should be able to walk you through it.

I still haven't figured out how the trucking work on my RS Pro-2051, but  I
entered in all 28 freqs in 28 channels, everyday or so i lockout the new
data channel & unlock the old data channel, so i have 27 channels of
scanning/trunking, if that's what it's called, it works fine, but sometimes
you  have the police or medics/fire mixed in those channels too, my son
likes to  listen to police, i like to listen to it all, but i miss the
highway maint in  the wintertime when the snowplows are plowing the highways
& major routes.  just my input.
