[Scanner] questions abt DPL

Just got a Pro 97 with the win 97 software---was trying to type in  
freq/pl-dpl info---software WILL take pl's  but NOT   dpl's---automatically puts in 
pl---must be something I'm not doing  properly---anyone have what I'm doing 
wrong????
I checked under the "help"  section of the program but can not find a listing 
for dpl's ;-(
 
oh, yes--there is no trunking around here--all conventional--
