[Scanner] upgrading the radio communication system

HIGH POINT -- Most City Council members said they are in favor of upgrading 
the radio communication system used by police, firefighters and emergency 
workers, although no formal vote was taken Tuesday night.The anticipated $7.5 
million upgrade would extend the city's communication coverage to high-growth areas 
such as north High Point. The city has outgrown its 16-year-old system -- 
leaving areas where emergency workers are unable to communicate.
