[for anyone who was either at the show or at Friday practice, I also sent this along to
the MilCom email list to see if anyone around the country ran across this same issue,
but wanted to check back with the "locals" to see if anyone else at Indy found it......]
This past weekend at the Indianapolis Airshow, I had the Monitoring Times listed
freqs. plugged in and they were right on the mark. Kudos to Larry and MT !!!!
I did notice one thing and wondered if anyone else had - on 139.8125/Bravo for the
com cart, it was just continuously putting out "noise" that sounded like it could have been
a digital transmission but that's only speculation on my part. In any case, I had to set
that channel to SKIP in my Icom R10 to get rid of it because it was so strong I couldn't
even squelch it out.
I thought it was possible that it could have been coming from my camera (for comparison
I was shooting a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7) as I had noticed that if I got the antenna
too close to the camera some noise was picked up. However, this was very weak, easily
squelchable...........and just by moving the antenna another inch from the camera it
disappeared entirely. Whereas, the junk on 139.8125 was VERY strong.
Possible that this was generated from some other source, I suppose. Wondered if anyone
else had run into this ????
