[ScanIndiana] HAM communications question

In this particular situation, several units were enroute & some
clarification was needed as to the specific location. Also while enroute it
would have been nice to get some vital information like, is it still
visible, is it still a funnel or is it now on the ground, are there any
houses in the assumed path, etc... While getting this info. we could be
relaying it to Boone County Communications & the EOC and notifying them to
sound emergency sirens in near by towns and/or puting fire & EMS on standby.
Unlike popular belief the National Weather Service has no control over
city's & town's tornado sirens; they have to be activated by the local EOC;
the NWS only controls the EAS.

We do have a couple HAM operators on staff, but they seem to be on vacation
(a lot).

Any more info., just ask.

Justin
