I would like to say what I have to say about this isssue at hand about 155.370 Indiana State Police Point-Point,Having a Brother who dispatched for ISP at Dist 13 in Lowell and Dist 52 In Indianapolis, I would have to say that having a 155.370 Monitor has been standard listening for me since he was on the department. I realize that is a delay but when some of us cannot be near our Weather alert receivers this is better that nothing at all.People have been listening to Point to Point way before NWS came out with the alert receiver by county.I also carry a Motorola Mintor II set up on 162.55 with a 1050HZ tone when I am out and I do not have a scanner with me .I know that the pager goes off for everything NWS issues for the Indianapolis coverage area and the counties but I know when the tone goes off on my Mintor II, We have conditions for bad weather in our watch/warning area. There is nothing wrong with having a point to point monitor so others know that when they hear "Dist 52 U
nits and stations" National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued Severe thunderstorm warrning for Marion County "I know that it is time to be aware that Severe Weather is in our County and I do not need to pay for a pager service to repeat to me what ISP is putting out from the post for free.It is a matter of Public Safety no matter where you get your infomation.Either way you know what is going on and have been brought up to date,So if you have a Weather Alert Radio, fine, If you have a Point To-Point monitor for 155.370 fine either way you look at this issue you are coverered.Thank You for letting me share my view point on this issue,Tim DeLong W9NES Indianapolis
