Matt, You misunderstood my point ,I said all the Newsmedia in the Downtown Indianapolis are are using Uniden Scanners including Ch 6,Ch 8,Ch 13,Ch 59 and WIBC.  I have been in the newsroom at Fox 59 News  and they have a Uniden BC-796D programed up for MECA going getting calls.Channel 13 NewsRoom has Uniden Bc-796D's that they just updated to.You see here is the point I am making,If you like Radio Shack buy it,If you like Uniden Buy it,I never said that "All Newsrooms across the county had Uniden scanners" just the ones in Indianapolis.Simply put plain and simple buy what you like and can afford without breaking your life savings as some people are just happy to have a scanner that can hear what is happing in their local area.  The reason why I am "Pro Uniden" is because I like there radio scanner line and I have used the radios ever since I bought my first programable scanners which was a Bearcat 210, 220, 250 and a 300 .I no  longer  have the 210,220, or the 250 but I still have the Bearcat 300 in service .  I am sorry for the misunderstanding but ths is the way I feel and when you find a product that a company will stand behind when you need repair and your questions answered.Uniden is my answer.
