Rick, the scanner you have (pro-95) will not do digital, just analog. I
looked at the database on radioreference.com and it appears your county is
conventional analog, so you shouldn't have any trouble listening to either
law enforcement, fire or ems in your county. In the future though, Indiana's
statewide system which is mostly digital, will be in your area, plus I think
neighboring Kentucky is digital (but not trunked) now for state police. Just
something to keep in mind for later.
Anyway, for your scanner problem, some questions:
- do you use win95 to program it with your PC? If so, try emailing me the
file off-list. I don't have a pro-95, but will be happy to take a look at
it.
- if not able to provide the above, email us a list if not too long, of the
freqs you are having trouble with. It may help to explain all steps used to
enter them by hand, as maybe some else on the list here that has a pro-95
will spot something.

I got the Dual Trunking Radio shack Scanner with 1000-channel . It states
that it will do type 1, type 2, and hybrid. It also states that it will do
GE/Ericsson trunked radio systems. It also has a range of 25-45
MHZ-108-136.9875MHZ-137-174 MHZ-216.0025-221.9975
MHZ-222-225MHZ-406-512MHZ-806-960 MHZ except cellular banc-1240-1300MHZ. Do
I need to get an analog/digital scanner? When trying to do the local area
for Harrison Co., it just doesn't pick up. The model is a 20-525. So is this
a digital or analog? I wanted the scanner for the fire/ems/other. I can
listen to the other area's just fine, just not my local area. The county I
am trying to listen to is Harrison County. I appreciate the quick response
from you guys.

John,
I am not in your area, but according to radioreference.com, Law
enforcement in Carroll County is using Indiana Safe-T, the eventually
statewide Motorola trunked system. Info there also states they are using
digital mode for both the county sheriff and Delphi police. That being the
case, you will need a digital scanner to listen, otherwise you will just
hear "digital hiss".
If your interests are fire/ems/other, they are still what we call
"conventional", and appear to be able to monitored with mosy any scanner.
What scanner do you have?

thank you for the info i live in CARROLL CO. IND.
Jim Sokol <jimsokol at cedbh.com> wrote:EDACS is one of several types of
trunking. Motorola and LTR are examples of others. If you are trying to
program in a trunked system, the type must match the type the system you are
trying to listen to uses.
If you are not trying to listen to a trunked system, you don't need to be
concerned with this.
Another item it whether or not the system you are trying to listen to is
digital or analog. You must have a digital-capable scanner to listen to
digital. Analog is no problem. There are also different types of digital
encoding. APCO25 is the only one scanners are able to listen to.
What type of scanner do you have?
Can you be more specific on what is Corydon, IN you are trying to listen to?
Please also specify county.
