[ScanIndiana] Indyscan.com

I was picking up some DX from the really good band opening
last night. So I went to www.indyscan.com to check some
references and found it closed. The page says it has given all of the
Indyscan info to www.radioreference.com.

This really disturbs me, this could be setting a very bad precedent
for the hobby.

I use radioreference.com everyday, it is a great resource, but to close
down the Indyscan.com site and hand over all that info (which has not
been posted
on there as of yet!) does not seem right to me. I am the creator and
webmaster
for the MONIXWeb site http://www.siscom.net/~mmeece/monix.html and
have been
since I first put it on the web back in 1998. To think of closing that
site down and sending
everything on it to radioreference.com, would go against everything I
have learned in this hobby.

I have posted info to both Indyscan.com and radioreference.com, but I
would never give everything I have
to radioreference.com. I want my MONIXWeb to the first place people to
go to for my area and they can
use radioreference.com as a secondary source.

Sure maintaining a scanner/radio webpage is time consuming and hard
work, but it is our way to give
back to the hobby we enjoy. If more hobbyists start closing down their
sites and giving their information to
radioreference.com, then the hobby is worse off for it, at least that is
my humble opinion.

I sure do miss Indyscan.com already.
