[ScanIndiana] Mount Comfort (Indianapolis) heard from Lafayette !!

Hot flash on Mount Comfort show, Saturday. I wasn't at the show,
but to my surprise at PRECISELY 4 PM local time, with one of my
scanners running on an indoor antenna 141.85 MHz, AM, opened up with
someone giving some kind of oath about protecting the constitution,
etc., etc.

At 4:16PM I began hearing the T-birds on 141.85 with a fairly
strong signal making show calls. Not bad, as I read my straight
line distance from Lafayette to Mount Comfort as something between
60 and 65 miles. Indoor antenna is about 10 feet up (having a
cathedral ceiling in one's home has it's moments :-) ) and I was
using the Icom R10 that I will have at the show tomorrow.

I logged:

141.85	4:16PM	strong signal
235.25	4:18PM	weak signal
141.85	4:21PM	strong
141.055	4:27PM	very weak and unreadable
235.25	4:28PM	weak
141.055	4:30PM	very weak and unreadable
141.85	4:30PM	clear call for "pull", etc
141.85	4:31PM	clear calls for maneuvers
141.85	4:35PM	more "pull" calls
141.85	4:38PM	more of the same, good signals
141.85	4:39PM	maneuver calls with comment about being "on time"

by 4:45 PM everything had gone quiet with their show presumably over.

Periodically, I was also seeing some S-meter hits on the radio which
did not break squelch or open up the receiver and trying to pin them
down to a specific frequency eluded me. However, they were on one or
several of:

140.2
142.0
141.4
140.0
269.9 (maybe - I have this in my T-bird freq bank but set to "skip".
I think that one at a previous show came on just before show time with
some godawful racket that I presumed was a databurst transmission and
therefore didn't want the radio locking up on it)

Would like to get a report tonight to see if anyone else who was either
closer and monitoring can confirm and add any others heard, or who was
at the show and monitoring and can confirm.

Those planning on going tomorrow - I heard from the hams some scuttlebutt
about contacting on the .70 machine pre-show. Will any of you have FRS
capability AT the show? I can take the 2-meter HT along if needed but
the FRS rigs are smaller and lighter. :-) If you get some email back
out tonight I can plan my setup accordingly.

Thanks in advance
Duane
