BC296D UPDATE Information 
Firmware Changes 
The firmware updates addressed by this download: 
1. Reduce 800MHz-900MHz birdies to avoid interference on trunking
systems. 
2. Adjust APCO25 performance to improve operation on some systems.

Updating the Firmware 
Download the BC296D or BC796D update and the BCi96D update and apply
them according 
    to the instructions included below. 
Using the Updates 
Some new or trial APCO 25 systems are using unexpected commands. If the
scanner receives
    such a command, it displays "Invalid ID" and stops tracking
properly. If this happens, 
      change the APCO 25 tracking model from Mode 1 to Mode
2 as follows: 
1. During trunk scan mode (or chain search or ID search mode), press the
"HOLD" key to 
    hold the scanning (searching). 
2. Press and hold "9" for 3 seconds to enter the Sound Quality Adjust
Screen. 
a) To set Mode 2, press and hold "2" for 3 seconds > "2" will appear on
left side 
    of the display. 
b) To return to Mode 1, press and hold "1" for 3 seconds. "2"
disappears. 
3. Press "RSM" to exit the setup mode.
