The unidens sound like complete garbage on the SAFE-T system.  At least
compared to my Motorola.  Suprisingly, the PRO-96 sounds wonderful, almost
as good as the Motorola.

For monitoring the SAFE-T system, I would recommend the PRO-96.  Of
course, in Ohio, where the MARCS system apparently uses QPSK-C modulation,
this may not be the best option.

But I would almost rather wait for the Firmware upgrade on the PRO-96 than
get a Uniden.  Of course, the Uniden's also monitor I-Calls, and the
PRO-96 does not.  A rather unforgivable omission on the part of GRE ;-)
