[ScanIndiana] BC780XLT Programming

Has anybody had any luck programming a BC780XLT in trunk mode and NOT be in 
the local area?  My travels take me to various large metro areas.  I know it 
is recommend to program it in the area of reception.  However, it is better 
for me to program it ahead of time before entering that particular area.
