Well, my statement is decidedly imprecise because it's not important to
the original topic.

To elaborate slightly: ProVoice is an EDACS system which utilizes a
standard APCO-25 IMBE vocoder instead of a proprietary AEGIS vocoder. 
The modulation scheme and trunking control is not APCO-25 compliant but
the market-droids call it an "APCO-25 offering."

There are plenty of examples of ProVoice systems that are
trunk-trackable with normal EDACS scanners.  The control channel isn't
necessarily encrypted.


I've asked before and never received a response...  Has anyone
_confirmed_ that the Terre Haute ProVoice system is encrypted (either
control channel or voice) in any way?  All the reports I've seen lead to
the conclusion it is not.
