[ScanIndiana] Anyone Know ISP Peru Post Freqs?

When I had a scanner in the car that would pickup low-band, I used a 5/8
wave 2-Meter antenna for just about everything. It was a compromise, but it
worked reasonably well for low-band, air, VHF & UHF.
A 6-Meter Ham antenna would work well, so would a CB antenna, but your
reception would probably suffer on the higher frequencies...
I currently just use a 2-Meter mobile radio with extended reception attached
to a dual-band HAM antenna (hole mount) I also use a glass-mount antenna
tuned for 860 MHz for the trunk tracker.
There are several "wide-band" antennas available that use traps & loading
coils to cover several frequency bands. Radio shack sells one, but I'm not
sure how it performs.
The BEST antenna to use is one that's cut (tuned) to the frequency you want
to monitor. The problem is with scanners, we're usually trying to hear a
broad range of frequencies & thus have to compromise in our antenna
selection.
ANYTHING is better outside the car than a rubber duck INSIDE the car. That
big metal frame will kill a signal.
I'll echo Les. 155.4450 is a good one to have in the radio. When I travel
the Indiana interstates, I usually monitor ILEEN & have the ISP Extender
(155.4450) in the priority slot.

Mr. Everhart,
I have a telescopic 41" antenna on my BC 245. What portable/car antenna
would be
best for these low frequencies?
Thank you for your help.
