[ScanIndiana] Police Tac Radios In Marion County

Thank you for a very informative post! The
biggest concern I have is that a criminal will
lure a police officer into a serious situation
using the "pirate" frequencies and kill them.
That is not a far fetched idea. Another fear I
have is the criminals using the legal system
against the police for using illegal radio
communications to plea bargain out of a crime.
But the main issue here is that law-enforcement
in Marion County, Indiana are skirting the very
laws of the land that they took an oath to
uphold! How does make John/Jane Q public feel?
Granted the criminal element in our society is
out of control and the courts seem to be their
strange "bed-fellows" putting law-enforcement at
serious risk of harm or even death. But again the
issue is simply put: "The police are breaking the
law!" The solution, as I see it, is for the
law-enforcement community to pull together and
approach their local, state, and national elected
officials for "protection". No, not new laws but
money to buy Tac Radios that are legal to use.
Most communities did not give up their VHF
licenses when they went on 800Mhz systems. The
police could and should use the "old system" as a
backup to 800Mhz systems that are junk and pose a
real danger to the police officers.
