Sure Got some Nasty E-mail , Would like to say I'Am sorry If this was
taken the wrong Way , I was Just trying to Pass info that Some might find
Interesting. with that said, I'am a Retired Police Sgt. from the Chicago
area And was really involved in Communications Including 911
Dispatching, We would Give all call Broadcast on An Emergency Incident and
actually break the Language Down a little so the Scanner listeners could
understand it Better, and Many times We got calls from Them who are the
Eyes and Ears of our Community, And We were able to take the info and put
it out immediately and Catch the alleged Bad person before anyone else was
hurt. I Do also Agree that all Depts Need some type of Way to Communicate
for Officer Safety and to keep from Putting out Sensitive info over normal
freqs . Some Scanner Listener will say wait a minute my Taxes paid for
Your communications and I have a Right to Know how You are using The radios
, That Might be true but, You do not need to Hear over the Scanner about
the little 10 Yr old Child Name and Address that Was Just Molested , By a
family Member , They have enough Problems, On the other hand if it was a
Unknown Stranger in the Neighborhood , by all means Put the info out in the
Clear .but Tactically break it down with No Names and address . I "am sure
all of has read or seen on TV, During the Raid the Agency found a Scanner
, Well what Happened ? How did They not hear them coming , why make the
Inference ? Here is another Bit of info Encouraging the Public to Monitor
all types of Communications Since Sept 11.

The FCC's Riley Hollingsworth today suggested that the amateur community
remain calm but ready. He invited amateurs monitoring any suspicious radio
activity to
contact him via e-mail, and he will relay relevant information to the FCC
duty team. "You never know," he said. He advised monitors to tape such
radio traffic, if
possible.

Off the Soap Box But my Scanner will stay On, Don KA9QJG
