I reviewed one of these for Scanning USA a few months ago.  Overall, it was a nice radio.  Good reception & lots of features  The included software is OK, but there are better software alternatives (especially if you're using Windows 2000).

If you don't need SSB, the PCR-100 might be a better choice.

With only 1 antenna input, you're kind of limited.  The PCR series (actually ANY wide band receiver) needs the ability to use a separate antenna for frequencies under 30 MHz.

I prefer a "scanners" for frequencies above 30 MHz and a "Communications Receiver" (like a Drake R8) for frequencies below 30 MHz.  Make all the difference in the world (in my opinion).
