More confirmation to the rumors, facts regarding Evansville's switch over to
Provoice.

OCS officers (special investigations/operations) have been utilizing
approxiamately 25 Jaguar 700P's in digital AND encrypted mode as a trial for
the rest of EPD for some months. Confirmed through a contact with EPD.

Now comes word that a new Provoice Dispatch console is in the building at
Evansville/Vanderburgh County awaiting installation by Tri State
Communications of Evansville.

Not sure if this means ALL agencies will be digital, or just EPD. Unsure if
all EPD will be encrypted or just the sensitive communications.

Evansville/Vanderburgh County's two-site EDACS system currently serves
Evansville PD, Evansville Fire, Vanderburgh County Sheriff, Vanderburgh
County Volunteer Fire, Vandberburgh County Health Department, Vandberburgh
County EMA, Vanderburgh County Animal Control, Evansville Regional Airport,
and Vanderburgh County Road Department.

Current plans are for Evansville/Vanderburgh County NOT to be part of
Project Hoosier SAFE-T.

Let's hope it's not another Springfield, Ohio.
