[ScanIndiana] Danville & 800 MHz

Just got this...you may already know...

Some off you may have heard, but here is the official word:

As of January 1, 2003 we will be using Indianapolis Fire Department through
MECA.  The system will be available for testing sometime in October or
November.  This system will require some changes in our protocols and
station numbers, however, the benefits will far out way the downside.

I have to commend FF Linville for his diligent effort on this project.
Without his work on this, there is no way we would have made this switch.

We will be getting mobile data terminals for the frontline equipment,
stations and switching to MECA pagers.

We are still very much interested in a central dispatch for this county,
but we will use this system until one can be established.
