Jack, btw, Hi. didn't know you were on here too. Roughly 2-5 years is
what I've been hearing too.

I saw the Head of MECA (Linn Piper) telling the members of the County's
Public Safety Committee meeting back in January that the Digital system
is in the works and that either he or the next director of MECA (whom
ever is in charge at the time) will be going before that saame committee
again in about a year to a year and a half to start requesting the
funding for the new digital system because of the fact that with the
current STX821's no longer being made, they are having a real hard time
finding spare/replacement parts and are having to resort to
cannibalizing some of the  inoperable STX 821s.Therefore, he said he
would like for the new system to be put on the fast track.

Supposedly, Uniden is to have a new digital capable scanner out later
this summer. It's been listed on their website. Sorry, but I don't have
the URL
