Ok folks...I am not out to start a war. I have
tried to word my posts in a manner not to incite
but to get answers. So here are some more
thoughts.
Your post answers my question about many city
license tickets. Has anyone contacted the FCC?
According to a "news flash" from the FCC last
year individuals who have knowledge of "unlawful
communication activities" can take their evidence
to the city/county police or prosecutor for
direct action. I have read here that some police
chief's have been contacted but what about the
mayors office? County prosecutor office? It seems
to me if one goes through all the trouble to find
"wrong-doings" in communications abuse then why
not do something about it.
If no positive response comes from the police
agencies, mayors office, or county prosecutors
office than a public campaign can be mounted
using the media to explain your positions and why
it is important for policing agencies to obey the
very laws they took an oath to uphold.
Another campaign from radio communications
enthusiasts could be a communications education
program where you would organize a communications
class in your community. Invite the public,
emergency services, and by all means the media. A
good public relations program with the goal of
awareness for all could go a long way to clear up
some problem areas. The idea being not to make
the police look bad. They got enough problems
already. W9FPJ
