[Scan-DC] Should aviation use full duplex for tower comms?

Duplex would still leave the tower side with heterodyning carriers from concurrent, multiple aircraft transmissions.  For airport area comms, a better choice would be employing some sort of CSMA technology, but that also implies converting to digital protocols and a much larger conversion cost.  And digital comes with its own set of negative issues as well.
