This is extremely sickening! Lindsey, via Broadcastify is the reason that
most of these departments go encrypted in the first place. I know that
there are those who will doubt this, but why do so many of the decision
makers who go encrypted cite "privacy" and "safety" while further saying how
easy it is for "anyone" with a cell phone to stay a step ahead by listening
the rebroadcasts. So thanks to Lindsey:
- Rebroadcast transmissions are a significant part of the reason for
encryption in a large number of cases
- Unproven, but I strongly suspect royalties from Uniden and Whistler for
use of the freely user provided frequency databases
- Agreements with agencies who go fully encrypted to broadcast those
transmissions on a time delayed rebroadcast so it LOOKS LIKE the agencies
are being transparent
Did I miss anything? So yea, Lindsey shares some of the blame for the same
encryption that agencies turn and around and work with to provide their
transmissions. So while Rebroadcastify can try to smell like a rose by
being the provider of time delayed transmission, it is largely
Rebroadcastify's "stuff" that those transmissions are encrypted in the first
place. Oh yea, and don't even think about discussing encryption over on
RadioReference, he knows he's the blame.
Flame on!
