Those handsfree Bluetooth headset broadcast the audio portion of a phone call over a FM radio frequency so you can hear the call without wearing an actual headset.  Many are tunable and can be tuned to any frequency between 87Mhz and 108 Mhz.   Many of them available on Amazon for around $49.

Most car radios can tune to that frequency.

There are a number of Handsfree Bluetooth Headsets using that frequency.  It also used at large events like NASCAR races (race announcer) and Air Shows.  In fact, the Ocean City Air Show announcers can be heard on this frequency.

If you're in heavy traffic you'll be surprised at the number of cell phone calls you'll come across on that FM radio frequency.      On Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 01:38:09 AM EDT, Alan Henney <alan at henney.com> wrote:

Last Sunday, I received a close-call hit on 87.9 MHz while passing the
University of Maryland College Park campus.  This is just below the FM
broadcast band (TV channel 6).  It sounded like an open mic but nothing was
being broadcast at the time.

Does anybody know what the backstory is with this frequency?
