You may wish to look at the HAARP link. It's a high-power HF transmitter that can be used to modify the characteristics of the ionosphere above it. It's used for a variety of scientific experiments involving the upper atmosphere. During this experiment, HAARP will attempt to probe barium clouds deposited in the F-layer ionosphere by rockets that NASA is launching as part of this experiment. If I'm reading the description correctly, HAARP is also measuring its HF signal scattered off the ocean during this same experiment.

I don't use Faceplant, and therefore I cannot provide guidance on the broken link. The NASA link works.
