For those who use Nooelec's SDRs, you may want to keep an eye on their
availability. I went to Nooelec's webpage today to say if they were
affected, and how bad by all of the price increases due first to the
pandemic, and now to the war. I noticed that there was no advertising for
the NESDR SMArt series. I sent Nooelec a question asking if they were being
discontinued or just affected by the worldwide chip shortages. In the
meantime, I did a little GoogleFoo on NESDR SMArt and noticed that it looks
like a little price gouging is going on with the first return being a
cellular company and wanting $59.41 for the previously $34 NESDR SMArt (and
they were out of stock!). The second return, a FleeBay seller was worse,
wanting $62.23 for his last "Premium" NESDR SMArt (the one with the Elonics
E4000 chip). When I finished browsing, Nooelec, who has always had great
customer service, had already replied to my question that they were just
temporarily out of stock, and expected back this week. I don't know what
the price will be when Nooelec gets their new stock in, but if you are a
user of these little gems, you may want to keep an eye on availability and
prices.
