Groups.io is such a great group host. I moderate a group or two on that platform. Many great features. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy XCover FieldPro, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone

I am curious what Ken thinks of an IO Group for CHM. I have been moderating the Scan-DC QTH email group and he has been doing the CHM FB.It might be good to have a backup but I worry about segmenting the email group. What features can Groups IO do that Facebook cannot?Ken, what do you think?Regards,AlanOn Sun, Apr 25, 2021 at 4:30 AM Greg Danes <danesgswolf at gmail.com> wrote:I know this has already been brought up by a few members and fizzled out. I think the reason why is no one wants to be the moderator or Admin for such a thing.I am willing to create with your words and guidance such a group. I already am the moderator/admin for ARUFON.https://arufon.groups.io/g/mainI don't like paying for sites I can create on my own with free software or be hooked into a recurring expense. This is the draw of all the folks on yahoo.groups when Yahoo saw fit to get rid of literally thousands of groups.I know you have the henney.com site and such but the listserver does not allow files or links which folks seem to want. I can also add you as a moderator of topics or admin as time goes along if you want more control etc. I have my hands full with other things like ARUFON and websites and scanner repairs in my retirement.Another nice thing is the fact it has a calendar you can schedule Zoom meetings for , a wiki, and what would be really neat is to have your CHM logo as the cover photo. The archive of CHM's pdf's could be backed up there as well as files or links from over the years. It would be member only and rule based. No politics or religious stuff, just DC scanner related or topical stuff like we do now. I am not looking to save the world here, just keep SCAN-DC's little part of it into the 21st century. Let me know what you think.Greg DanesKJ4DGE571-201-9393
