*For free estimates and repairs on older scanners.* Thanks to the number of
people who have dropped off or sent me scanners and receivers to fix.

As stated before, for the month of April only I will not charge for a
repair estimate or labor fees to fix your older scanners to put back in
service, just parts used.

I prefer 1994 and later radios to look at as you can still get parts for
these.
If you do not want to make the trip to Leesburg, VA you can pay postage
both ways, and any parts needed if they are still available.

Bearcat/Electra, Regency and some others were made before modern assembly
lines came into the norm in the late 1980's. These radios were mainly hand
assembled or machine soldered on double-sided copper circuit boards.

While many are now over 40 + years old, the heat and cold caused breaks in
connections that are either time consuming to find or simply will not stay
fixed. GRE/Radio Shack and GRE/Uniden radios were much better manufactured
with wave solder machines in the 1990's. They will last a long time if
taken care of and can be used for monitoring obscure frequencies much
better at 50,100, or 300 channels while your TRX1 or SDS200 does the heavy
work.

Dedicate an older scanner to HAM, Marine or AIR and perhaps hear things you
didn't hear before like common Federal analog frequencies for LE or EMS.

Starting May 1st I will charge 35.00 (a day) *not an hour* to repair these
radios, plus parts and shipping costs if you cannot drop off for repair.
Estimates will still be free of charge.
