I have read that SDRTrunk works much better with 2 sticks - one monitoring the control channel, the other used for voice traffic. If anyone is curious, here's the link to its wiki

How can you say that the P25RX's price is a 'deal breaker'?  At USD260, you get a trunking radio that's roughly less than a third of the SDR100 (some dealers are charging around USD700 for it). Yes it doesn't cover the same bands as a scanner, but you could get another analog radio (like a BCT15X) for milcom, aero, etc. and STILL be ahead of the game
