personally with qrp levels of 4 watts you can work pretty well SSB but AM
mode is very short skip if even that. Given the bad rap CB has had in the
last 30 years by HAMs I would not totally rule it out, but its
channellized. You cannot tune down a few to make room for others. Still
channel 6 supposedly is a place local DC area folks still gather. I would
get an analog scanner and dedicate 40 channels to listening before you pull
the trigger on buying a radio.

Its a must for road reports from truckers in travel for sure. Nets? not too
sure about the decorum or even they happen. Chit-chat maybe if you can find
like minded users.
