While not exactly scanner related (but can be when it comes to SDR) since you mentioned the Raspberry Pi, here's something that quietly came about. If you're not aware, the Raspberry Pi folks have released the Raspberry 400, basically a RPi 4 built into a compact keyboard. While the components are still RPi4, it is actually clocked .2 MHz faster and runs cooler since it takes advantage of the large heatsink also contained inside the keyboard. The only main drawbacks are that it does not have a place for a CSI camera, no 3.5 audio out and it only contains 3 instead of four USB jacks; however, that's understandable since the "missing" USB is the keyboard. Also, it only comes in a 4GB RAM version, but who knows, that may change depending on it's success. I plan on giving it a spin as a non-headless RPi (I have MANY headless RPi-s running as a 13-camera security system and 2 flight feeders).

If you use TrunkRecorder, you can pair it with Rdio Scanner to make it into
a web based scanner that's capable of listening to all talkgroups at the
same time so you never miss a transmission, even when monitoring lots of
talkgroups:
