I can confirm that 231.3 (AM mode) is still active as the Pentagon helipad tower frequency. I copied strong signals this morning (~7-8 AM) working what sounded like "PAT" 04 and "PAT" 18.  Does anyone know what PAT stands for?

I copied PAT 04 on 231.3 in conversation with the tower.

I did not hear PAT 18 talking back to the tower, so it may have been transmitting on a different frequency. I was not monitoring the other tower frequency of 143.1, so perhaps PAT 18 was on that frequency. Yesterday, 143.1 was getting intermittent interference from pager hash, making it difficult to monitor and record. I continue to be amazed that pagers are still a thing.

I'm scanning/recording these frequencies today and will let you know what I hear. I'm about three miles from the Pentagon.
