[Scan-DC] 5G poles creating eyesores in Dewey Beach, residents say

I don’t agree with that sentiment. Most people, including me, are very happy with LTE. I don’t need 5G speeds for a cell phone. This was a child of the cell phone companies and phone manufacturers. Faster, better, like nothing you've seen before - all to entice you to buy the next generation of cell phones, even if you have no need for them. It’s like the cell phone plans that allow you to get a new phone each year or so and continue to rent them forever.

I live in your typical suburb in VA. We have great LTE coverage and don’t need 5G. We don’t need a pole very 500 feet. When we travel, we sometimes encounter gaps, but in the woods, extremely rural areas or the desert, we will probably never be able to get cell coverage in those areas, let alone 5G.

IMHO, 5G is a con by the cell companies to sell us something we don’t need so they can sell us new products. Just another example of bred gone wild.
