Today I left my R8600 scanning/recording all (25 kHz) air frequencies between 122 and 124 MHz, looking for possible flyover activity. After work I discovered >1200 recordings of activity. However, I determined that the vast majority were routine unicom transmissions for the various small airports in the area (Stafford, Tipton, St. Mary's, Caroll County, Montgomery, Leesburg). So I then locked all that stuff out and scanned what was left, hoping tomorrow the flyover will use one of the "unused" frequencies. I came across these guys in the process.

123.45 is a very common and normal air-to-air frequency... could be anyone
from commercial to experimental, or anything in-between. (In the older
days, the air traffic planes used it to communicate with each other).

I'm in northern Carroll County MD near the PA line, extremely strong signals
here. I should go outside and look up, maybe I can see them. Sounds like
they're discussing approach to the airport now?
