It drives me crazy every time I hear stories like this or about lost
hikers. Their products out there that can save hikers kayakers lives. I
frequently hike and kayak and sometimes I do it alone but I never ever go
out without a personal locator beacon. When kayaking it's attached to my
PFD when hiking it's physically attached to me and not my backpack.

The one I have been using for many years isn't the link below I encourage
anyone who does anything outdoors to buy one of these it could save your
life The cost of it is minimal compared to what it could do to aid in your
rescue.

Stores that sell outdoor gear should sell personal locator beacons and make
sure that their store personnel recommends the use of them and tells
customers how could potentially save their life.
