[Scan-DC] Feds admit radios interfere with garage door openers

Every 378-400 P-25 system I have installed I have gotten reports of
this issue. With the worst being an Army Depot in central
Pennsylvania.

Talking to City/County Commissions or trying to explain the situation
to pissed-off homeowners doesn't get you anywhere.
They don't know what a FCC Part-15 device is,......or care!

Their [often expensive] garage door opener doesn't work, and "I" broke
it is all they see...

Is the new Warrenton system 380 MHz? How can that impact a receiver
at 315 MHz?

A top-secret and secure federal government facility just northwest of
Warrenton admitted Tuesday that it may be responsible for crippling
dozens of garage door openers in two nearby subdivisions.

Since Door Openers share with FEDS and are pretty cheap on the RX
side, it is like trying to listen to an 800 TRS while living next-door
to a Cellular site.

Been plenty of stories over the years on this topic across the
country.

Heck even in a high RF zone, Car Alarm Remotes tend to not work unless
right on-top of the car.

FYI my database shows 319 & 390 mhz. also as low power garage door
opener/closer frequencies.? The Ft. Lee VA trs control frequency
installed over 10 years ago is on 386 mhz. and has good area
coverage.?

Any garage door opener/closer installed in the area using the 300 mhz.

range can be at great risk of not working. I'm sure the area
installers are aware of the potential problem.? My home was built with
an attached one vehicle carport.? Later separately I had a two vehicle
carport installed to accommodate my vehicle's roof mounted radio
antennas.
