[Scan-DC] D.C. area TV reception (antenna suggestions?)

I have had the same outdoor, rotor controlled Yagi from Radio Shack for 35 years. I live in Severna Park and receive **all** the Baltimore and Washington stations including their sub-channels, with HD quality better than my FIOS cable internet. It's nice to know that something pre-digital works so well. To get 90% of the stations I don't have to even bother turning the rotor. This is the only outdoor antenna left in the area, and all the neighbors laugh, of course. I'd cut the cable if it wasn't for some of the specialty stations.
I see Radio Shack no longer sells them, but https://tinyurl.com/y6ek4s7m is similar. Also. Walmart has https://tinyurl.com/y36druk2 which shows alternates, too. I've also had good luck in the past with a ham radio discone. Takeaway: Put a bunch of metal in the air and you'll get a signal.

I'm curious what antennas you guys recommend for local TV reception?
The fiberglass, plastic, flat panel, Mohu, et al, seem like poor performers
for me. I have become a fan of old-fashioned metal antennas.
But I see so many different models these days.
Which is better: The long horizontal models, or the vertical bowties?
Looking at TVfool, I need VHF and UHF.
What do you guys recommend?
Curious to find these interesting listings on eBay. The sellers have
pretty good feedback for what I consider suspect antennas, especially the
980-mile model.
Has anybody tried the single-piece rotor/antenna combo? That sounds
interesting.
In this age of technology, I'd think there would be an antenna system that
scans the entire 360 and stores the precise bearing for each channel.
Anything like that out there?
