No the 2004-2006 series did not have an AUTO mode, you need to select the
mode per channel, and per search bank

We have a couple of MIL Air heard in the northeast that are AM, but are also
used by some units [air and ground] in FM
So we have to program them in twice at times.

Subject: [Scan-DC] AM vs. FM

 Hey Guys,

Does anyone remember the Realistic Pro-2006? I have 2 of them. My plans
are to

take one on a trip. I was given a list of military freqs between 118.0 &
400.0 khz. I

noticed after plugging in almost 130 frequencies, the scanner selected NFM
for all

138 khz & above. I went back and changed them all to AM mode.

My question is would the pro-2006 have stopped on a freq if I had not
changed the

mode to AM. Will it switch back to FM automatically if am wrong about using
AM?

I have many years HF logging but Not with scanners. I am like a brand new
listener

on UHF/ VHF, hardly no experience :-))

I dont see anything in the manual about it BTW.

 Any advise is much appreciated.

 Regards from Scott W3CV FM-19pb
