Location: 1 8345 Col Henry K Douglas Dr, Hagerstown, MD 21740

On Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 11:00 AM until 2:30 PM the Maryland State
Police Hagerstown Barracks will host an open house. Members of the
community are invited to attend this free event which will have several
live action demonstrations, food vendors, games and prizes for people of
all ages. The purpose of the open house is to display the many various
services the Maryland State Police provide to the citizens of Maryland.
Specifically there will be both static displays as well as demonstrations
by various Maryland State Police units to include motorcycles, K-9’s, bomb
disposal, crime scene technicians, public order, SWAT, divers and many
more. Additionally, there will be a live action recreation of a car crash
with troopers, fire and EMS responding to extricate a simulated injured
driver. The injured party will be transported via MSP helicopter from the
scene. Further, there will be a troop inspection demonstration. A primary
focus of the event will be recruiting for careers in public safety.
Recruiters from the Maryland State Police as well as numerous other
federal, state and local agencies will be on hand to answer questions and
take applications. This exciting event has something for everyone. It is
geared both to prospective applicants as well as families and children.
Children at the event will also have the opportunity to be sworn in as
honorary Maryland State Troopers.
